Like finding your old church camp shirt at the bottom of a box you haven't opened in 40 years.
Higher Ground Summer Fellowship, Sanderson, Texas. Summer of ’86.
At least, that's the story.
This design imagines a long-forgotten 1980s West Texas church camp tee, complete with a little country church tucked beneath the rugged hills of Sanderson, an enormous burnt-orange sun, and the kind of simple, slightly awkward artwork you might have gotten from the local graphic artist tasked with making that year's camp shirts.
Nothing is supposed to feel newly designed.
The illustration uses a deliberately limited palette of faded turquoise, burnt orange, dusty yellow, sand and deep blue, with the imperfect registration and straightforward illustration style of an inexpensive vintage screen print. The oversized HIGHER GROUND lettering gives it the unmistakable identity of an old summer-camp shirt, while the smaller SUMMER FELLOWSHIP — SANDERSON, TEXAS • 1986 detail finishes the story.
The result is part West Texas souvenir tee, part forgotten church-camp merchandise, with just enough strange color and atmosphere to make you wonder whether Higher Ground might actually have existed.

FIT
This garment is intentionally oversized. Order your usual size for the intended relaxed silhouette. If you prefer a more conventional fit, consider sizing down after comparing the garment measurements with a T-shirt you already own and like the fit of.
ARTWORK NOTE
The fading is intentional.
Cracked ink, missing pigment, rough contours, uneven color, distressed lettering, registration shifts and worn areas are built into the artwork to recreate the character of an old screen-printed 1986 camp tee that's spent the last few decades folded away in somebody's garage.
It isn't supposed to look pristine.
It's supposed to look found.
CARE
Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low. Iron at low temperature and avoid ironing directly over the print. Do not dry clean.
