You don't have to be from Marbach to hear about Marbach.

After spending most of my life in California, I relocated to Texas in my late 30s and eventually made San Antonio my new home.
Living on the Far West Side, it didn't take long before I started hearing the stories, jokes and local folklore surrounding Marbach. If you've spent enough time on this side of San Antonio, you probably know exactly what I mean.

And eventually, I joined in.

One of the things I've grown to love about San Antonio is its ability to laugh at itself. Every city has its places, personalities, reputations and inside jokes—and around here, Marbach has developed a mythology all its own. This shirt comes from that spirit. It's affectionate, self-deprecating and made with love for the city I now call home.

The back graphic imagines Marbach as a long-forgotten late-1970s consumer brand—something pulled from the bottom of an old trunk after decades of wear. Faded red, aged cream, deep black lettering, battered cardboard, fold lines, scratches and missing ink give the artwork the character of an actual surviving piece of vintage packaging.

The front carries a smaller distressed M insignia derived from that same fictional brand, giving the shirt the feeling of old company merchandise whose original meaning has almost been forgotten.

If you're from San Antonio—especially the Far West Side—you'll probably get it.
