It wasn’t Halloween. It just happened to be on Halloween night.

I grew up in a pretty religious household, and depending on the year, Halloween wasn’t always happening. No trick-or-treating. No Halloween party. Instead, we went to church.

At one point, our church started throwing a special party for the kids called Hallelujah. Games, food, candy, kids running around—and, completely coincidentally of course, it happened to fall on October 31.

If you grew up in that world, you probably know exactly what I’m talking about.

The Happy Hallelujah tee is a nod to those nights. The artwork borrows the visual language of old American Halloween and sideshow posters without actually using traditional Halloween imagery. The design is presented like a battered piece of old poster board that survived decades folded up in a church storage room or forgotten in the bottom of a trunk.

Cracked ink, faded colors, stains, folds, chipped edges and imperfect printing are all intentional. It isn't supposed to look like somebody designed a vintage shirt today. It's supposed to look like somebody found one.
