I was a teenager in the ’90s, and R&B was the soundtrack.

This one is personal.

I remember the artists and groups everybody still talks about, but I also remember the names that don't come up nearly enough anymore—the Sam Salters, Shai, H-Town, Silk, Total, 112, Xscape, Tony Rich Project, and so many others. The singers, groups, album cuts and slow jams that made ’90s R&B feel like its own universe.

Early-2000s R&B gave us plenty of great music too. But for me, the ’90s were the last full decade when R&B felt completely comfortable just being R&B—before the lines between R&B and hip-hop became increasingly blurred.

That's what this shirt represents.

The design takes that love for the era and treats it like something that survived from it: stylized ’90s typography translated into a set of worn, imperfect fabric patches, with faded muted orange and aged beige, irregular stitching and just enough deterioration to make the graphics feel found rather than manufactured. The separate greater-than patch finishes the thought without having to explain it:

A third music-note patch carries the same visual language onto the sleeve, making the three graphics feel like pieces from one old set.
